Re: CMSimple LE - any informations?
Hi guys It is right I'm back. The reason I stopped was that Peter Harteg suddenly released a 3.4 version, so I thought that he had changed his mind and would continue to develop CMSimple. Just short time ago I discovered, that he had sold everything to Gert. As I see it the new versions of CMSimple,...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Hi, Just have a look at the sitemap here: http://www.quattroclub.de/index.php?sitemap The plain content.htm is about 3.8 MB today and there are 5 plugins active. Do you really think that another way of plugin-loading will result in a feelable speed up there? Holger Hi Holger I have to admit that th...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Christoph Perhaps I should have made it more clear that even I consider improvements I strongly believe that CMSimple should be kept backwards compatible. That was my basic reason for starting CMSimple LE and I'm going to stick to this principle. But backwards compatibility should of course go hand ...

Re: drop down menu assistance, Please!
Hi kweku I guess that you didn't get any replies because you didn't ask a precise question but just asked for assistance in general. Looking at your links I'll say it looks great. But looking at your downtown31 zip archive I must say that I personally find it a little besides my ideas about CMSimple...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Hi Christoph You are too pessimistic :-) A new INCLUDE-ON-DEMAND module system could be parallel to the present plugin system. Plugins that are invoked from the templates have to be included every time CMSimple answer a request or you get a blank screen. Here your idea about having the plugin's inde...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Hello Christoph If we define some rules for a new kind of modules like: 1. Only call from content.htm 2. Same name for the modules directory and main function 3. Structure and files like the present plugins. Then we only need 10-15 lines of code in cms.php to extract the name and include the files b...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Hi Christoph It could become a long discussion, but let us make it short. It would be quite easy to change the loading of plugins when they are called from content.htm. But you are right. When they are called from template.htm they have to be loaded already. I didn't think about that  But still...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Hi again @Gert No need for changing the way CSS files are handled. The pluginloader does already write the address of it to $hjs. The only problem is that it is done for each plugin everytime no matter if it actually is used or not. @Christoph and others I don't get the point about a "stub solution"...

Re: CMSimple needs a better plugin system
Hi all Thanks for the comments. @Tata I agree, the plugins are extremly important. @Christoph The pluginloader does not only include the index.php files but also all the config, css, and language files. Actually I'm surprised to see that you test only shows very little that very little extra time is...
