Well, if we change it to "license", probably an Englishman would complain, that's it's mispelled.
It's hard to decide, if cmsimple-xh.com should be written in British or American English. As it's a .com domain, probably the latter would be more appropriate. But at least for me (I'm not the primary maintainer of cmsimple-xh.com though) it's very difficult to differenciate between American and British English: in school I learned British (Oxford) English, but later on I mostly read and heard American English. So often I don't even know, which is which.
The cleanest solution might be to register cmsimple-xh.co.uk too, setting up a Brititsh English version there and changing cmsimple-xh.com to American English. But this will take some additional effort, which could otherwise be spend to improving the overall documentation. So perhaps it's OK, if we stick with the mix of British and American English on cmsimple-xh.com for now (search for "license" and "licence": you'll find both spellings
