There is a list on the CMSimple wiki: http://cmsimplewiki.com/doku.php/plugin ... ries/start. Not all of these plugins do work with CMSimple_XH 1.6.4, though.

I suggest you contact Holger via PM to get a copy of http://cmsimple.holgerirmler.de/?Plugins:lb_Gallery which seems to be the best maintained gallery plugin for CMSimple_XH.

But that one is currently not available for download. So we need an alternative, at least temporary.

Holger took down the download long ago (2010?), because there had been a case of copyright infringement. Just send him a PM or an email, and I'm pretty sure he'll send you a copy of the latest version (see, for instance, http://cmsimpleforum.com/viewtopic.php? ... 261#p45261).

The only alternatives I can recommend are Pictures and Gallery Collection. However, both might be out of maintenance (wrt. to Pictures see http://cmsimpleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8148).

Current versions of KissGallery, FotoGalerie and FotoBoxes are not compatible with CMSimple_XH, and Svarrer's Gallery has known vulnerabilities. (Well, KissGallery and FotoGalerie might also have known vulnerabilities -- not sure, if that has been fixed in the meantime.)

Hi

We really need a responsive gallery for CMSimple_xh.

On the last websites i have made i have put in the images in the editor at add Holgers Fancybox - that give a ok gallery function and it will work on responsive sites, but it is a hard way to do it.

Lets hope one of us "that loves cmsimple-xh" gets the time i 2015 to create a resposive gallery

Happe new year to every one

Best regards
Jens - Denmark

Well, at least lb_Gallery is responsive: http://www.badminton-tips.de/?Fotos.

Actually, the functionality of Svarrer's gallery is fully sufficient for my present project - thanks to CSS3 these galleries can be made a lot prettier than in 2006. I have already implemented it in the prototype. AFAIK the newer gallery scripts are all derived from that code. So is there any chance to have some fix backported?

Apparently i need to touch the code anyway because i would like to disable the download of the fully sized image.
And check if i can easily find a fix for the tiny HTML coding bug in the thumbnail view (the fieldset tag will not be closed).

BTW: what exactly is a "responsive gallery" ?

Probably no, but it shouldn't be a problem to upgrade to lb_Gallery, which is supposed to be backward compatible to the format of Svarrer's Gallery.

Well, that doesn't seem to be possible. If an image can be displayed in the browser, it can always be downloaded. If you want to protect the non-watermarked images, you don't have to modify the code, but have to protect the folder(s) from direct access. For Apache servers you can use a copy of the .htaccess that's shipped with CMSimple_XH in the content/ folder.

See http://cmsimpleforum.com/viewtopic.php? ... 526#p22539.

It's an informal term for a gallery that adapts to the available width in templates which don't have a fixed width for the contents area. So depending on the viewport width there are different numbers of images displayed per row. I assume that most gallery plugins allow for that; exceptions would be galleries which are rendered as <table>s.
