Console:
Development Tools failed to load source map: Unable to load content from http://fhseidel.de/cmsxh/fhs-sectionsOP ... min.js.map : Error HTTP : status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

This is not a bug, but the result of an individual setting in the console. Search for source map in the console settings and disable it (2x).
This also has nothing to do with the original problem.

And on my remote server, these messages:

I think this comes from the DevTools when trying to load the source map. So: switch off.

With Chrome no blocking for Javascript and despite the authorization to display insecure content for the site fhseidel.de, no "back to top" button. The https model here.

As you can see, we are really trying to find out if it is a bug in general or an individual problem with you.
Also your last example shows the button correctly in all my browsers.
I have no more idea how we could help you.

A page or script is accessing at least one of navigator.userAgent, navigator.appVersion, and navigator.platform. Starting in Chrome 101, the amount of information available in the User Agent string will be reduced.

That appears to be wow.js, but I don't think this is the actual problem.

In fact, wow.js is the only script that uses userAgent.
But also true: this is not the current problem. At least I hope so. Or could this circumstance interrupt further JS execution? And why does the problem also occur with Ludwig's pages - that is, with Onepage?

Maybe it's all related to this thread too?
There were also problems with the JS, when using :root {scroll-behavior: smooth;}. Something with the master element ... ?

You helped me a lot on this subject, because I tended to test the online demos with an access generally offered in http, and with an access by https it works. I just checked it with Edge, Opera, Chrome and of course Firefox.
No doubt the concern comes from the security of browsers for no-https access. And the browsers (Edge, Opera, Chrome) installed have their default configuration. But that remains a mystery for this "back to top" button.

That looks very relevant. Shouldn't that be a[href*="#Sections-1-3"]?

@fhs: the wow.js issue will only be relevant in the future; for now this is effectively a deprecation message.
