What about calling it "jscript" ... as PSPad does.

Renaming seems to be a small and fast action, or?

How about "script"?

I forwarded the link to my webhosting provider's support staff. Thanks.

I'm no hardliner regarding the proper name (which would be ECMAScript anyway), so jscript/ is fine by me, even if JScript was (or still is?) the name chosen by Microsoft's implementation.

Anyway, I'm still hoping to release 1.6.1 over the weekend, so we have to choose a new name soon.

Yes. However, the update patch will not be able to delete the old folder, so this will remain as zombie, if the user doesn't delete it manually.

This would be my main concern with that name.

Those who have the redirect problem will delete the folder manually. For the others, it's not a big deal if they just don't care.

"jscripts" would be a good idea too (if I have a right in this kind of discussion). Maybe with an "howupgrade.txt" file to explain the manual deletion.

Maybe this folder could be populated by more than one script in future. So why not call it "scripts" with a plural s at the end ... like pluginS, templateS, userfileS

I had written it in the plural too ;-)

Well, the plural seems reasonable, as I assume there will be more scripts in the future. Oh well, svasti was faster. :)

Yes, of course! Everybody is welcome to join the discussion. If you want to participate in the voting, just say so. For sure, you fullfill the "terms of admission".

ACK. Maybe a prominent notice in the README files might suffice (plus a hint in the release announcements).

So it'll be "jscripts" or "scripts", I guess.
