Well, I'm not sure if it's reasonable to replace the template on cmsimple-xh.org. After all it most likely was much work to adjust the Wiki template accordingly (Dokuwiki templates seem to be much more complex than CMSimple ones). And frankly (no pun intended), I like svasti's template, and we have to consider his reasoning:
svasti wrote:The present format is quite similar to the one we inherited from Gert. I didn't want to change to much all at once.
However, I very much like the footer of the cmsimple_modern template[1]. And I think, having a slider (maybe only on the start page) is a good idea. Perhaps it's possible to combine the best of templates?

Even the slider?

Green stands for hope. :)

PS: [1] Linking to w3schools might not be the best idea, see http://www.w3fools.com/. MDN seems to be a better resource for client-side technology. (And yes, somebody might update the Plugin Tutorial in this regard. ;))

Fully agree, I put the links there only as a design item. They can of course be replaced by any other respective link.
And yes, I also agree to make it all with two templates (e.g. "Intro" and "Pages"). Something simillar is tested here: http://k-vital-2.cmsimple.sk. There are even 4 templates used (intro, page, page_0 (without submain newsboxes) and one more for editevents backend). This webpage is but only a very rough step in some testing.

It't OOT, but now, that I finally made my localhost working also under windows and tested the design in IE as well, I see, that the design doesn't work properly with IE. Can someone check, what shall be changed there?

It seems to be okay with IE11. On IE8 the template has some minor issues, what might be related to the media queries which IE8 doesn't recognize. However, that's nothing to worry about, IMHO. If you see any major defects, you may explain the details or perhaps better make a screenshot.

Thanks for the screenshot. I have tested this now with a "real" IE8 (not only with IE11 in IE8 emulation mode), and indeed the images are distorted there. Despite the stylesheet has a rule .button img {width: 18px; height: 18px} in IE8 they're shown as 8x22px. Apparently, the rule img {max-width:100%} is causing this (I don't know why[1]). You most likely can work around this issue by adding:

Code: Select all

.button img {max-width: none}
Interestingly, the site looks fine in IE6 and in IE8's IE7 compatibility mode.

[1] Maybe http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1739 ... ers-header explains it.

How about this one? The original content is slightly split in more subpages. Also more newsboxes are added.
Have alook at this very rough draft http://cmsimplexh161.cmsimple.sk

P.S. I just can't find what's wrong with CMSimpmle_XH Forum link - why the subpages of Templates appears there.
