Editing on iPad
Editing on iPad
Is there any reason why I can't edit a CMSimple site on a iPad?
I can login in but when on a page I can't edit the text - there is no cursor!

Re: Editing on iPad
Hi B,
the problem is that IOS 4.x and earlier supports neither designMode nor contentEditable, either of which is required by all WYSIWYG editors I'm aware of. AFAIK tinyMCE is working on IOS 5 (IIRC Torsten reported this). For a minimal editing capability you can set Settings -> CMS -> Editor -> External to "" (i.e. leave it blank); this will give you a simple textarea to edit the HTML. For sure not enough for real editing, but it might suffice to fix a typo or so. Codeeditor_XH might also work; you can test the online demo of Codemirror.

Yes, that seems to be the problem.cmb wrote:the problem is that IOS 4.x and earlier supports neither designMode nor contentEditable, either of which is required by all WYSIWYG editors I'm aware of.
I'm not aware about TinyMCE, but CKEditor supports iOS 5+ since it becomes available:

Re: Editing on iPad
I just found the following thread in the tinyMCE forum: http://www.tinymce.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=22209. It seems that tinyMCE doesn't run stable, if at all on iOS 5, probably depending on the version. The most recent version is shipped with XH 1.5.6 so you might try this (you can simply replace plugins/tinymce/ for older XHs).
But maybe it's not directly related to tinyMCE, but to the CMSimple integration. So please test http://www.tinymce.com/tryit/full.php. Does that work?

Re: Editing on iPad
Just to confirm CKeditor works ok.
TinyMCE works ok after I updated it.
Thanks

Re: Editing on iPad
In my opinion first things come first. Which means we should do things in a proper manner in this case is iPad (imho) not for working. Go to edit on PC or Mac.bca wrote:Is there any reason why I can't edit a CMSimple site on a iPad?

I ignore kro23pw for now as I'm not certain about his intentions (I would not be surprised, if they're more about advertising ).mrleejohn wrote:Well... I must disagree with kro23pw
Are you able to edit your site with your iPad?
