Hi Emile,

I'm not sure if there'll be problems with PHP 5.3, but several things will not work correctly with PHP 5.4+ (I would at least install PHP 5.4.x, because PHP 5.3 reaches its end-of-life in summer 2014; PHP 5.5 is even a better option, but there could be problems regarding the opcache, which can be appropriately configured, though). Updating to XH 1.1.7 should solve these issues and will fix some security issues as well. Besides, updating to XH 1.1.7 should be rather painless.

Thanks for reply CMB. I talk about 75 websites or so.... so update each website is not an option :-(
Anybody else any experience with php 5.3 and cmsimpel_XH 1.1.2 ?

Well, the update from XH 1.1.2 to 1.1.7 shouldn't be much work: simply upload the files of the relevant patch to the server, what shouldn't overwrite either config, language, css files nor content and templates (there might be problems in some rare cases).

However, I noticed that we don't have an update package from XH 1.1.2 to 1.1.7. Unfortunately the update package 1.1.2 -> 1.1.3 had been deleted (because of former security policies). If you're interested I can make such an update package available.

Anyway, in the long run you'll have to upgrade to a recent XH version, because XH 1.1.x isn't supported anymore, and will neither receive security patches (there are known vulnerabilities) nor bug fixes regarding coming PHP versions.

Thanks Christoph for your explanation about the way of update.
Is it possible to update to 1.3 by uploading a update package to server and that will overwrite all files from all those websites in one time??
And then do the same to 1.7 ?

I believe it is not necessary to split the process in two steps (1.1.2 -> 1.1.3 + 1.1.3 -> 1.1.7). The only file that has been changed from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 and has not been changed later is FCKEditor/editor/plugins/sitelink/sitelink.php, so this could be integrated to the update package. You can download this update package: http://3-magi.net/downloads/CMSimple_XH ... to_117.zip.

To install the update for all sites in one go you would have to either prepare the update for all sites on your local machine and upload that via FTP, or if you have shell access on the server could upload the update package once to a separate folder, and then do the copying via bash (or another shell) with a simple loop. The latter is more efficient and simpler.
