Wrapper Plugin and FF 7.0.1

Post by cmb » Mon Oct 24, 2011 4:44 pm

Hello Community,

I've just seen that neither autowrap() nor autowrap2() work under FF 7.0.1, though everything is fine under IE6/7/8, Chrome14, Opera11.51 and Safari 5.1. Does anybody know if this is due a bug in FF 7.0.1, or should the underlying scripts be considered unreliable for some new browsers?

Hi Christoph

Not sure what symptoms you are getting but on one of my sites using autowrap() it works except i am getting scrollbars at bottom and left hand side. (FF 7.0.1)
it is ok in chrome15

Hi B,

That's exactly what I mean (well, actually bottom and right hand side scrollbars in my case)! But autowrap() is meant to work without scrollsbars (at least the vertical scrollbar shouldn't be shown).

Shouldn'd it be autowrap2 ?

I use FF 7.0.1 and have no scrollbars at all. (http://tro-hosting.de/stolpersteine/?Links)

Hi Ulrich,

I've made some more tests, and found that autowrap2() works better for FF 7.0.1 than autowrap(). But still scrollbars will be displayed when the width of the IFrame's contents exceed the available width of it's container. Other browsers behave as overflow:hidden was set.

The horizontal scrollbar in case the content is wider than the available space seems reasonable, but the vertical scrollbar still seems superfluous to me, as it just accommodates for the additional vertical scrollbar.

But at least it's good to know, that autowrap() and autowrap2() might behave differently under different browsers.
