It's no shame to ask for an answer if all efforts failed.
But it's awful to ask without any effort to find the answer yourself.

Correct.

The Mac version is unusable for me; i am still running 10.8. 10.9 was famous to use too much ressources of my machine.

I have upgraded to 10.11 El Capitan and it runs pretty smoothly. In fact, I have invested into RAM (16GB), it was definitely worth to do it. As I run also Windows (under Parallels Desktop), it also consumes some resources.
