Hi everybody!
I've just released
Foldergallery_XH 1.0beta1.
Fotogallery_XH facilitates the presentation of image galleries on a CMSimple_XH website. Contrary to most other existing gallery plugins, the galleries are created completely automatically from existing images in a given folder, so that the galleries don't have to be prepared in the back-end. That makes Foldergallery_XH especially suited for large amounts of images, and also for use with
Extedit_XH.
I'm looking forward to your feedback!

1 Problem
Gallery works only on 1 level of folders
Here http://plugins_171.cmsimple.sk/?Plugins/plugins-by-Chris/foldergallery you can see the plugin in operation.
The shown images are stored in userfiles/images/header/... and the call on the page is
{{{foldergallery 'header'}}}
Everything is clearly explained in the help file
Prepare the galleries by uploading images into CMSimple_XH's image folder,
or a subfolder thereof, either via FTP or a filebrowser. The image captions
shown by Foldergallery_XH are retrieved from the filename or, if available,
the Exif <em>ImageDescription</em> tag stored in the image file.
To present all images in the image folder on a page, insert the following
plugin call:
{{{foldergallery}}}
To present only the images of a subfolder (and all subfolders of that
folder), use somethink like the following (replace
SUBFOLDERNAME with the actual name of the subfolder):
{{{foldergallery 'SUBFOLDERNAME'}}}

It's no shame to ask for an answer if all efforts failed.
But it's awful to ask without any effort to find the answer yourself.

Yes, that is a
known issue. Until I'll find the time to release a new version, consider to use Foldergallery_XH only on top-level pages (menulevel=1), or use only ASCII characters for the page name.

2 Wish / feature
Would be nice in setting choose exactly folders to show gallery or vat least stop on 1 or 2 level or stop some folder within main folder.
I'll see what I can do.

How is it then here http://plugins_171.cmsimple.sk/?Plugins/plugins-by-Chris/foldergallery ?
The page is H3 (or is it because of CMSimple_XH 1.7.1 and the page is actually on the top level always?)
Also the img source folder is deep in userfiles.

This works because the page names consist of ASCII characters only. If you had Slovak page names, it would likely fail.

Hm,
- the img folder renamed to userfiles/images/header ľščťžýáíé
- pages renamed to: plugins-by-Chris-ľščťžýáíé/foldergallery-ľščťžýáíé&normal
Still working fine: http://plugins_171.cmsimple.sk/?Plugins

The problem only shows for subfolders which contain images. Then the link to these subfolders would not work.

The folder is renamed from
to
and the code on the subpage is
Code: Select all
<h3>foldergallery ľščťžýáíé</h3>
<div>{{{foldergallery 'header ľščťžýáíé'}}}</div>
Tested with 1.7.2, showing no problems with the special chars.

The name of the image folder is not necessarily a problem. There can be problems though, if the page name where foldergallery is called contains non ASCII characters, and the imagefolder has a subfolder with images. That's exactly the problem on
http://cms.sima.spb.ru/?%D0%9F%D1%80%D0 ... dergallery. Everything appears to be fine, unless you click thumb or wrtmrk. The slashes are encoded as %2F (i.e.
http://cms.sima.spb.ru/?%D0%9F%D1%80%D0 ... lder=thumb), which doesn't work. It should be
http://cms.sima.spb.ru/?%D0%9F%D1%80%D0 ... lder=thumb instead.
